Grief is love

Even if that love is accompanied by many unwanted emotions for a long time, even if it’s drenched in anger, in guilt, in suffocating pain.  Even if it’s showing up wearing depression and mental health struggles.

Even if it’s overwhelmed by anxiety, fears and debilitating sadness.  Once your heart comes to terms with all those feelings and starts to sort through things and the pieces that have come undone start to come back together, the constant that will always remain is pure love. 

Love is what’s behind, in front of, in between and beside all of it.  Because grief is and will always be LOVE.
